Steve Goodrich
President
Steve Goodrich is the Founder and President of COE and is a nationally known speaker, author, teacher, and strategist on leadership, organizational effectiveness, and human capital. For 30 years, he has been helping clients create the most effective organizations. Steve has led COE in providing services to our clients.
He began his career in education and then consulting to the power generation industry. As a division director in a prominent technology solutions firm, he provided support in integrating technology into the workplace. Steve has held senior leadership positions in small and large firms. He has served on a White House Committee for Educational Reform, and regularly counsels CEOs, executives, and Political Appointees on organizational effectiveness and strategic issues. Steve has taught at the university level and has served on a number of corporate boards, as well as serving as Chairman of the Board of a 501(c)(3) charity.
Steve holds a BS in Education and an MA in Industrial Management. He currently serves on the Board of the Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCF) and The Unexpected Stage Theatre Company.

Charlie Crew
Executive Vice President
As Executive Vice President, Charlie is responsible for directing the corporate financial activities, including banking relationships and treasury functions, and for the reporting and measurement systems of the company. He is responsible for leading the investment banking and legal activities, participating in the corporate strategic planning and budget development, as well as developing corporate policies.
Charlie has more than 35 years of management experience in a broad variety of executive and operating roles with both publicly traded and privately-held companies, including managing divisions for Fortune 100 companies. Most recently he served as Executive Vice President and CFO with ServerVault Corp, which was acquired in a private equity transaction. Prior to joining ServerVault, he served in a similar role with IPIX Corp. (NASDAQ: IPIXQ), where he engineered $20 million in private equity financing and achieved SOX compliance for an accelerated SEC filing company. Previously, with Cigital, Inc, Group 1 Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:GSOFT; acquired by Pitney-Bowes, NYSE PBI) and Penta Systems International, Inc., Charlie held CFO and executive VP-level positions in which he conducted strategic planning, directed numerous mergers and acquisitions, established financial controls, arranged financing and managed international organizations. Additionally, as a financial officer and director of several publicly traded companies, his background includes SEC, Wall Street, banking, board level corporate governance and communication experience.
Charlie holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Baltimore, a Masters degree with concentrations in Finance and Marketing from Loyola College, Baltimore and is a certified public accountant.

Connie Freeman
Vice President, Consulting Solutions
As Vice President of Consulting Solutions, Connie is responsible for leading an experienced and diverse team of consultants and managing all aspects of COE’s client engagements, including marketing, bid and proposal, client relationship management, and consulting. Her team provides consulting services in strategic planning and support, organizational assessment and improvement, business process improvement, human capital planning and management, change guidance, leadership support, and enterprise system implementation.
Connie has consulted for over seventeen years to both public and private sector organizations including government, healthcare, education, financial services, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing. Her clients have ranged from large multi-national organizations to small and midsize local and national companies and agencies.
Connie consults on a wide range of organization effectiveness engagements. Her expertise includes supporting culture change, identifying leadership potential in organizations, designing and implementing management processes for workforce and succession planning, assessing and developing leaders and managers to achieve business goals, and coaching senior leaders to strengthen their performance and position them for ongoing success. Connie has held senior leadership positions in two global consultancies prior to joining COE.
Connie holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in Organizational Communication, and has completed graduate work in Organizational behavior.

James Bryan
Vice President, Technology Solutions
As Vice President of Technology Solutions, James leads our technology practice which includes the development and support of client technology systems and tools related to organizational effectiveness/performance and human capital. He also oversees GoalOwner, our performance management suite and other new product solutions initiatives. James is responsible for technology strategy, defining the go-to-market approach, sales/marketing, market execution and all aspects of technology development, support and working with customers and partners.
James is a strategic and seasoned executive with over 23 years of progressive experience and expertise in portfolio management, strategic partnerships, program and executive management. His experience spans the public, private and non-profit sectors. Much of James’ career has focused on HRIT and Disaster Response solutions for organizations such as the American Red Cross, Watson Wyatt Worldwide, Gannett and MCI. James has also had the privilege to speak at numerous CIO conferences around the country.
James holds a BS in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
